Applicants may pursue certification independently or be sponsored by an employer. Sponsored students who attain certification will automatically earn a certificate for their employer. Applicants must pass a one-day examination that is scheduled twice a year in either Northern or Southern California.

The first step is to apply and order your study materials. Please see details below.

The second step is to take the exam. Please check the website of the Master Floral Association or the California State Floral Association for upcoming exam dates and locations. At the San Francisco Flower Mart, San Francisco, California.

Cancellation Policy

 
   
Exams may be rescheduled for a later date or cancelled no later than thirty (30) days prior to exam date.  No refunds will be given for study materials or the one-year dual membership.  A 20% processing fee will be charged for all cancellations and rescheduled exam dates.  Medical emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis with physician's documentation.
   
 

Annual Maintenance of Certification

 
   
  • The attendance at three (3) educational programs within the first five (5) years of certification is required.
  • The attendance at one (1) educational program per year is required after the fifth (5th) year.
  • Benefits include dual membership in the Master Florists Association and the California State Floral Association, as well as association publications, event notifications, and event discounts.
